The ultra-large fermentor was designed and improved orientated at a high level of scale, intensification and automation, which solved the problems of insufficient heat exchange area and stirring power of the fermentor. Its application adapted to the needs of large-scale production and improved amino acid productivity and conversion. The tank design and selection, cooling devices, transmission stirring device and supporting air compressor were concretely discussed in this paper.
