Chemo-enzymatic synthesis of(R)- citronellal through   asymmetric hydrogenation of(E/Z)- citral

Abstract

The enoate reductase OYE2catalyzes the asymmetric hydrogenation of(E)-o(Z)-citral,with chiral product complementary,resulting in lowe.e.value of(R)-
citronellal.The
study aims to improve the e.e.value of(R)-
citronellal through coupling of enzymatic asymmetric
hydrogenation and amino acid-catalyzed substrate isomerization.Glycine was selected with a
concentration of 1mol/L for the substrate isomerization and the pH was adjusted at 7.0.The
asymmetric hydrogenation of (E/Z)-
citral under optimized substrate isomerization condition
resulted in 75.06%e.e.and 91.84%yield of(R)-citronellal,which were 27.62%and 23.90%
higher than the control.
